John lewis potato ricer – stainless steel

As expected the John Lewis Potato ricer is a top quality item – made of good quality stainless steel, it is tough and well designed. It carries their usual no quibble 12 month guarantee, so if there’s ever a problem you can just take it back and they will swap it for another (even with internet purchases – keep your receipt though!)

The ricer has a handy pan rest built in so you can rest the ricer on the top of the pan you are ricing into and it will help take the strain away from your hands. This is perfect if your making a large amount of mash! While this is a thoughtful feature we have a small complaint in that the pan rest is not flat – it has grooves to help it ‘grip’ the edge of your pan. This is fine if it fits your pan, but the lip on our pan was a little too big so the grooves did not sit properly on our pan and ended up scratching it a little. A small complaint, but annoying no the less. Apart from that is is a great ricer.

John Lewis seems to be constantly going out of stock on this item, so if you are lucky enough to grab one then not only do you have a decent potato ricer, but also a fairly rare one!
